Beatrixpark, Amsterdam

This one-of-a-kind play structure was designed to be built entirely of concrete. Back in november 2015 we worked alongside the concrete artists of SkateOn. Shotcrete was the only option to be able to create these three concave, convex & oververtical shapes. The two bowls and floating concrete ring are interconnected with a doorway giving access to an intriguing, unique looking building. This was a challenging build to say the least but through persistence, expertise & teamwork we were able to pull it off.

Once this object was built and the concrete had cured sufficiently we finalized this design by adding the finishing touch. Grinding away any surplus material and polishing the round curves and windowsills gave this object a seamless finish. A white coating was later added to give it it’s current appearance.
