Den Haag Maurice Ravel plaza

The city of Den Haag is known for it's streetskating scene. With legendary spots such as the Spui and the now defunct Tweede Kamer there has always been a focus on technical street skating in this city. Working closely with local legends Jesse Voerman, Justin Wagener and Robbin de Wit to name a few, the goal was to design an innovative streetplaza with an authentic feel and mainly straight lines. The outcome of this co-lab combines a spacious lay-out with different colours of concrete with lots of granite details. A modernized version of the legendary China banks in San Francisco? Yes please! A street gap with ride on grind access? Check! This design offers up tons of hidden gems and a tip of the hat to the musical mastermind of Maurice Ravel. The Maurice Ravel streetplaza is set to be built in 2027.

Den Haag Bosjes van Pex

Back in 2025 the city of Den Haag challenged us to design a beginners friendly, low key skatefacility. Loosely based around the concept of a continuous pumptrack this design features three interconnected bowls that interact with organic platforms. The endresult is an endless transition landscape with tons of flow and lines. We look forward to seeing this project come to life later in 2026.

Alphen aan den Rijn skatepark

Last year Concrete Matters put together this design for the future skatepark of Alphen aan den Rijn. With over a hundred meters of concrete this park offers something for everyone, taking inspiration from places like the old Katwijk miniramp, the legendary Pier 7 in SF and the lovely indoor Bryggeriet bowl in Sweden. This park is being built by the capable crew from Nineyards skateparks and is set to be opened on the 18th of April 2026. We can not wait to get a good skate at this massive park, hope to see you there!

DenHaag Bokkefort skatepark

When the city of Den Haag asked Concrete Matters for a complete makeover of their current Bokkefort skatepark we were given a so called 'carte blanche'. With a spacious plot of over 2000m2 this location offers enough space to integrate all styles of riding. Regardless of whether you like to skate a 'real' street oriented plaza or a more traditional styled skatepark, flow around in a pumptrack lay-out or just want to shred around in a good mid sized flowbowl with a spine; this design offers it all.

Noordwijk skatepark

Last February & March Concrete Matters built a micro sized skatepark for the lovely city of Noordwijk. Optimizing the available space and budget we couldn't be happier with the outcome!

Mellow A frame set up
Microramp with some curves
Noping grinds with a bright red slappy curb on top
Impossible trannie to A frame? Maybe, but certainly a lot more fun than a straight wall!

Amstelveen skatepark

The city of Amstelveen commissioned Concrete Matters to put together a design for their future skatepark at the Legmeerdijk. A slightly altered version of our design is currently being built by the capable crew of Nineyards so we look forward to it's completion and can't wait to get some sessions at this park!

This project is a special one for Stan, founder of Concrete Matters. While visiting the old Amstelveen snakerun back in 1986 it was right here that Stan first got introduced to 'professional' skateboarding! Built in early 1979 at the Burgemeester Haspelslaan it remains here today making it the oldest skating infrastructure in the Netherlands. Concrete Matters did the necessary fieldwork to write an inventory report of the possible locations for a new skatepark in Amstelveen in 2022. Comparing over 8 locations the city of Amstelveen finally decided upon the location of the Legmeerdijk where it is being built today. It should be finished by the end of June 2025 and could very well inspire future generations to go and get rad!

We can't wait to see the outcome of this project and look forward to skating some top notch concrete!

Oudenaarde skatepark

The Oudenaarde locals wanted a varied design with a focus on streetskating and a good flow in between all elements. By combining granite and steel ledges of various heights this park offers something for beginning skaters and the more advanced. Connecting to the surrounding grassy areas made a higher section possible to allow for some nice miniramp skating with a bank and spine and some 'hidden' transfer options to fly out of the miniramp into other parts of the skatepark. A whippy little  quarterpipe with waterfalls and poolcoping enable the more advanced riders to make speed to session the eight stair, Hubba ledge and handrail. The varied selection of low impact elements like a double sided slappy, a long flatbar and a red painted curb with mannie check most boxes on a streetskaters wishlist. Still reading this huh? You can like go from right here to there like, really nice man! The Oudenaarde skatepark has plenty of parking & Belgium beverages available around the corner and can be found right here at the Rodelos 1!

Rijswijk skatepark

The Rijswijk skatepark is a medium sized skatepark featuring a minipool and a diverse streetcourse with different sized obstacles. Inside you will find several (banked) hips, a slappycurb and a manual with a buttery & bright red curb and even a Jersey on top one of the banks. Despite this variety & amount of different elements this place still has a good flow to it which makes it really fun. Should you slam then try and lick the concrete; it will taste like strawberries.

The Rijswijk skatepark blends into it's surroundings with gradual grass slopes leading you to the platforms skatepark

Oedelem skatepark Belgium

At the end of 2021 we built our last park of the year in the city of Oedelem, Belgium.

The locals wanted a bank to bank set-up combined with a quarterpipe and a bank/hip combo which we integrated into the final design making Oedelem a compact yet diverse & unique little streetpark.

To optimize available funds we built directly upon the existing asphalt. To minimize our impact upon the environment we used second generation backfill materials for the different levels of the skatepark.
