Luxaplast Kortrijk

After renovating their marvelous bowl last year the city of Kortrijk invited us to come back and build them a streetplaza. We were honoured to do the job and below is the outcome of our work. Many thanks going out to the city of Kortrijk, the Dirty Luxa kids & Rampaffairs for all the help, hospitality & goodtimes!

Beatrixpark Amsterdam

This one-of-a-kind play structure was designed to be built entirely of concrete. Back in november 2015 we worked on this project alongside various other concrete artists. Shotcrete was the only option to be able to create these three concave, convex & oververtical shapes. The two bowls and floating concrete  ring are interconnected with a doorway giving access to an intriguing, unique looking building. This was a challenging build but through persistence, expertise & teamwork this too became a reality.

Once this object was built and the concrete had cured sufficiently we finalized this design by adding the finishing touch. Grinding away any surplus material and polishing the round curves and windowsills gave this object a seamless finish. A white coating was later added to give it it's current appearance.

IJburg Amsterdam

The city of Amsterdam contacted us to build a temporary miniramp in IJburg. To test whether skaters would create nuisance & problems in this residential area we were asked to make the miniramp portable so that it could be (re)moved if that were necessary. Working together with the Ladybird crew we erected a 10 meter wide miniramp with extensions on both sides. Since this ramp was built to be a temporary skate obstacle this miniramp is no longer there today. Good times were had but nothing lasts forever...
